    1. Hi, Mimi! So nice to hear from you!

My mom (Barbara) always spoke of her Doyle cousins, especially Tommy, Sheila, and Sally. It's kind of amazing that our families never knew each other when we "kids" were growing up. I guess Hermosa Beach (where we lived) was a ways away from Oakland, but still in the same state!

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I heard the news from Catherine, and from Daniel Bader (in Germany) in the last couple of days. Catherine sent me a photo of a painting Clara did of your mom, which I hope to post soon.

That's Barbara'a picture at the top of the blog, ca. 1944. The curly-haired tyke with the TV is me, ca. 1953!

  5. Hallo Maureen
I wrote yesterday night with Carlotta Tormey and she has said that Sheila Theresa Doyle died in October 2012. Not good news and our condolences.
For this reason alone it is nice to hear from you. Unbelievable. What a small world!
Very best wishes of the family from Germany.

  6. Dear Lisa,

I missed my auntie Olga Bader who married was my uncle Ramzy's Girl Friend for long years then he married her ...then he died..she stayed in his family home in Beirut and died as well. I miss both of them so much. I have been seeing them in my dreams lately. It's funny I just thought maybe the internet can connect me to them...as I was the love of their life when I was a kid and as I grew up and went into my teen-age years...I wasn't as nice as I should have been with auntie Olga..They are both in my heart forever...I feel they are not gone...and my great love and appreciation never changed for them...I wish I could instantly go back in time and be me today...as I can finally can measure exactly my emotions and I can express it so much better than then! I was so happy to find you have collected all those photos of your Bader Ancestors...I find that amazing...as Uncle Ramzy also collected and gave us so many photos ! I think amazing people are those who appreciate loved ones to the point of gathering their souvenirs! Thank You so very much from all my heart : Mona (monanaturelle@yahoo.com) :)
